Challenge 28: Gradient Nails

Hi Girls!

For today's challenge I have created a manicure that reminds me of my vacation in Greece. To create my gradient I have used several shades of blue :-)

... and some blue glitters :-D. My motto is: "Whenever in doubt, glitter!"

Products I have used:
  • Farmec - Nr. Pool Party --> 2 coats as the base color
  • Essense Snow Jam - Nr. 01 Goofy Blue --> first layer of the gradient
  • Maybelline Mini Colorama - Nr. 96 Party Blue --> second layer of the gradient
  • Flormar SuperMatte - Nr. M103 --> white polish. I applied it on the tip of the nails
  • Nicole by OPI - Sweet Dreams --> the glitter topper

Challenge 26: Galaxies

Hi Girls!

Before I show you my manicure I want to warn you that this was my first attempt of galaxy nails. I like the result and I am thinking at repeating it. It reminds me of the Milky Way :-D.

Products I have used:
  • Gabrini Matte - Nr. M 07 (blue)
  • Maybeline - Nr. 630 Dark Denim (blue)
  • Rimmel - Nr. 58 Lemon Drop

Challenge 25: Rainbow Nails

Hi Girls!

For this challenge I have tried a new technique: the one stroke. You will certainly get a great effect using this technique but you will have to works for it. To sweat for it :-P

My nails are relatively small so I had to use a simplified rainbow :-). I have used only the main colors: red, yellow, green, blue and purple.

Challenge 24: Inspired by a Flag

Hi Girls!

I'm so sorry for being this late with this manicure!
I went to bed really late ... or really early in the morning, I am not sure :-D. Besides, there is a Nivea tent in the city center I couldn't miss. They tested my skin (their tester says that I have dry skin but I could swear it's rather oily) and I got loooots of free samples of body lotions, shampoo, baby body lotion, different day creams, BB Cream and tiny little cute Nivea creams. I love them!

And now back to our challenge :-). I have chosen the flag of Trinidad and Tobago because I find it  manicureble (manicureble is my new word creation and it means that a something, a pattern, can be used as a manicure design) :-D.

Products I have used:
  • Bourjois - Nr. 11 Rouge in style
  • Flormar - Nr. NA 12
  • Flormar - Nr. NA 01

Challenge 23: Half Moons

Hi Girls!

It's time for  new challenge and this time it's about half moons.
I always liked half moons manicures but I never dared to try one...this time I had to  :-)
My manicure is not a conventional Half Moons manicures, because instead of using nail polish, my half moons are made of glitters :-D

Products I have used:
  • Gabrini (Summer Collection) - Nr. C 06 -> This is a great polish! Quick dry, very pigmented, resistant on the nails. The one thing that bothers me, that after removing it, my hands are all blue. I feel like an Avatar :-D
  • Silver and black glitters

Challenge 18: Inspired by a Pattern

Hi Girls!

I am in such a good mood today (don't ask why, I have no idea :-D).
It's Saturday and it's time for a new challenge. I have to confess that since last week this time I had no idea what my pattern will look like and for 2 hours my nails were "naked" and crying for a manicure :-)

We were supposed to get inspired by a pattern, so I took a look at my closet, trying to find a pattern through my clothes. This is when I realized  that I am stripes-crazy. I counted 35 T-shirts with stripes :-S.

Having no pattern to imitate, I decided to create my own pattern. I hope you like it and see the pattern in it :-).

Challenge 14: Delicate Print

Hi Girls!

The theme for today's challenge is: Delicate Print.
This was a horrible challenge for me. I don't own any Konad plates, I had no idea what delicate print to make, so I took a powerful pink polish and added some delicate dots :-P
I hope I didn't disappoint you! Meanwhile I have placed an order for some Konad plates. I can't wait to put my hands on them :-D

Products I have used:
  • Moyra - Nr. 56 (pink)
  • Acrylic paint for the dots
  • Dotting tool

Challenge 12: Inspired by a book

Hi Girls!

Inspired by a book was one of the most complicated challenges for me. Days passed and I had no idea what manicure I would present today.

To solve this problem I used Occam's Razor. Wikipedia's definition sounds like this:  "Occam's Razor states that among competing hypotheses, the one that makes the fewest assumptions should be selected". My definition is more simple: the easiest solution is the best one.

I asked myself: "Which is your all time favorite book?". And the answer was: "The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco".

This novel is a historical murder mystery which takes place in 1327, in an Italian monastery, but I preferred to draw only the "title" of the book, not it's story :-).

Products I have used:
  • OPI - My Vampire is Buff (from the Euro Centrale Collection)
  • Acrylic paints

Challenge 10: Green Nails

Hi Girls!

I just can't believe it's Saturday again!
Although I love green, I had a rough time coming up with something interesting. I had to remake my middle finger from my left hand 5 times! For a moment I wanted to give up on this challenge when my boyfriend pointed out a polish I had almost forgotten about :-)

Products I have used:
  • Orly -  Nr. 40665 Green Apple -> newest polish from the stash and my first Orly ever. I especially love the rubberized top and the creamy formula. For this manicure I have used 2 coats and it dried really fast.
  • Essence Peel Off Base Coat -> wonderful product. I can now remove the dust from my "toughest" glitter polishes.
  •  Milani Jewel FX - Nr. 531 Gold -> in 2 thick coats. I was surprised that it dried as fast as the Orly.
  • Essence Nail Art Special Effect Topper - Nr. 13 Mrs and Mr Glitter
  • Gold Caviar -> brought online from ebay.com. This is my first attempt, please be gentle :-)

Challenge 9: Inspired by a Movie

Hi Girls!

First of all it's Saturday again... finally!
Second of all it's time for a new challenge! Oh, yeah!
This is a scheduled post because I'm out of the country in this weekend, I hope it really works...
As always, I can't wait to see your manicures :-).

Although this challenge is supposed to be inspired from a movie, my source of inspiration was a TV series: The Mentalist (let's not let this minor detail get in the way). The Mentalist is my favorite TV series at the moment because the story is great and the main character is charming. But here comes the really interesting and yet terrifying drawing which is at the heart of the movie and which has inspired this manicure: The Red John Face.

Products I have used:
  • Flormar Supermatte - Nr. M103 (white base. It seems to me that I used this white polish more and more :-) )
  • Red acrylic paint

Challenge 8: Animal Print

Hi Girls!

I present you my Animal Print Challenge Manicure:

The source of my inspiration was the Dalmatian Dog (I am sure you all know how it looks like :-D), but my boyfriend insists, that I have a cow on my nails. What do you think? After all, the cow is an animal too. Right? :-)

Products I have used:
  • Flormar Supermatte - Nr. M103 (white)
  • Flormar Nail Art - Nr. NA12 (black)
I love this manicure a lot, so I have taken tons of photos. I leave you with some more:
