Firmoo Sunglasses on a Sunday Funday

Today I will present something that is not exactly a nail accessory but it looks great next to my nails. If you're a regular reader of my posts, you probably know by now that I like to hold different interesting objects in my hand while taking pictures of my nails. This time will be no exception. Also, I'm planning to start a new blog soon, on which I will describe products that are outside the nail care family. So consider this post a transition towards that :) The new blog will soon be available at www.glazemirror.com. Do not worry though, I will continue to dedicate the same kind of attention to www.nailglaze.com as until now and you'll be able to look at wonderful new manicures again and again, just like until now ;)

So what is this mysterious object that I wish to present today? A few weeks ago I received a special package from www.firmoo.com. In case you haven't heard about them yet, they sell optical solutions, namely prescription glasses and sunglasses. What is special about them is that they do it worldwide and online. You just send them your measurements (and optionally your prescription from an ophthalmologist), choose your favorite model from www.firmoo.com, and they send you your glasses. The great thing that is that you can upload a picture of your face to their site and you can try on their glasses (on your picture) in a virtual manner, online. You can this way try on glasses from the comfort of your home before deciding to buy anything. If you decide to buy some of their products, know that they offer free shipping to virtually any part of the world, although your own country might charge you with import taxes (VAT). In Romania the package price limit under which you won't be charged with the 24% VAT is 45 EUR.

Fortunately I have perfect vision and do not wear prescription glasses, but I tried our one of their sunglasses:

I have worn them for a few weeks now and I'm very satisfied with them. The lenses are of high quality and perfectly clear. I've used them for driving, for walking on sunny mountains and also in the city. They have served me well in all conditions, so I'm happy that I have them.

Firmoo was kind enough to send me some accessories for free: a box a cloth bag for for the glasses, a microfiber and a tool for tightening the screws.

I personally prefer to use the box instead of the cloth bag. Although very sturdy it's also surprisingly compact and fits nicely in my purse.

Don't forget to pay attention to the nails, though. They look great with the sunglasses in my hand!

The polish I am wearing is Essie's Sunday Funday (Nr. 268), a light coral shade with some silver particles that look great in the sun.

One final detail picture about the sunglasses. The model I have chosen is available here

NOTD - Pierre Rene Sand Effect Nr, 02

Hi Girls!

The other days I have placed my first order on www.magiq.ro
I have purchased 2 beautiful polishes and an acetone free nail polish remover and I got to chose a scented polish of my choice. This offer is still available at Magiq.

Today I am wearing Pierre Rene - Nr. 02, the polish from the middle. I haven't used any design today. I wanted to reserve this post simply for this polish because I am in love with it.

What I like about it in the first place is this interesting orange-red, maybe coral color, the little golden particles and the fact that it is textured!

The Secret Manicure

Hi Girls!

Today we are doing a really cute collaboration: The Secret Manicure.
We all put our names on a list and Georgia has chosen randomly whose manicure we should reproduce. I had to chose between the manicures of Andreea M. I have chosen her Starfish manicure :-)

Products I have used:
  • Acrylic paints - blue (base color), red+yellow+white for the light coral
  • Flomar Supershine - Nr. 39
  • Rimmel Finishing Touch - Top coat

The Polishes Challenge: 11. Ugliest

Hi Girls!

Today I am going to show you an old polish, that I never even dreamt of showing you.

I am talking about this pink base color:

Products I have used:
  • Avon ColorTrend - Peekaboo --> in the catalog it looked great, but in reality I think it is one of the ugliest polishes I have ever tried. My other ugly polish that comes to mind is this yellow cracking polish from Flormar. You can view the whole post here.

Farmec Collection Polishes

Hi Girls!

I have recently got a pleasant surprise from Farmec: they have sent over 4 polishes from their new collection :-). Farmec has been producing polishes for a while now, but this is the first collection with such vivid colors. Yeeee! The new collection is also available online, here.
An interesting fact about this collection is that the shades will changed continuously and will be adapted to the actual trends and season.

What I like about the new Farmec Collection:
  • vivid colors, very pigmented
  • nice little bottles
  • each shade has it's own name
  • glossy finish even without a top coat
  • they look a lot better applied on the nail than they look in the bottle. So don't be fooled by appearances!

The Tri-Polish Challenge - Manicure 3

Hi Girls!

It's time for the third manicure from The Tri-Polish Challange. You can find the first two manicures here and here.

This time I have used the green and the coral polishes and made a cloud manicure. Yes know, this doesn't look like a coral polish. I haven't applied it directly on the white polish, but on top of the green one. This is why it looks darker than in the previous manicures.

The Tri-Polish Challenge - Manicure 1

Hi Girls!

I am participating in The Tri-Polish Challenge organized by Crumpets's Nail Tarts.

Rules of this challenge:
  • there is no given theme, only given colors: coral, green and purple
  • there will be 4 manicures on the Tuesday and Thursday of the 3rd and 4th week of the month
  • you have to use the same 3 polishes for all 4 manicures
  • you have free use of white, black, silver, gold and glitter toppers
  • for more details visit Crumpets's Nail Tarts.

I have chosen 3 Flormar polishes (if you have never heard of Flormar you will find more info here):
  • Flormar SuperShine - Nr. 28 (coral)
  • Flormar - Nr. 445 (purple)
  • Flormar Super Neon Colors - Nr. N007 (green)
For my first manicure I have chosen a combination of coral with purple and I have added some flowers using black and white polishes. Unfortunately this manicure hasn't turned out so spectacular as I have imagined it, but I promise not to disappoint you on Thursday!
