Nail Polish Removers That I Use

I usually show you manicures and often wine about removing them (especially glitters), but I have never shown you my collection of nail polish removers. So now is the time :-)

The first and most important criteria when I buy a nail polish remover is being acetone free. Even if removing will become a sweatier process (when removing glitters of course), I prefer these because them won't dry out my nails.

At the moment I have 6 nail polish removers and I use them depending on the manicure (how may coats, what color, with or without glitters) I am wearing.

My all time Nr. 1: Pierre Rene Professional's Nail Polish Remover with no acetone and with oil conditioner.

This polish remover is available online @ Magiq (here), where a bottle of 145 ml costs only 13 RON + shipping.
I like it because:
  • it's transparent
  • has a "nice" fruity like smell, not like a usual solvent
  •  removers quite fast glitters
Nr. 2 + 3: Bourjois Gentle Nail Enamel Remover and Astor Nail Polish Remover.

I use Astor Professional Nail Care Nail Polish Remover for light colors, mainly nudes and whites. It's a really soft remover, but smells like heavy duty acetone. You will have to work that cotton pad :-).  It's available here. 100 ml for 10 RON.

Although Bourjois Gentle Nail Enamel Remover has a pink color, I like it's fruity "perfume" which will persist a few minutes on your nails. I always wash my nails after removing the polish so I don't benefit from this extra :-). It works fine even with darker colors.

Nr. 4: Essence Quick & Easy Sponge Nail Polish Remover

I got this one from Barcelona (I haven't seen it in stores in Romania). I use it seldom, when I am in a hurry and I am not wearing any glitters, but my mom is in love with it! She says that the person who invented it was a genius. I agree.
It has a nice fragrance which I cannot identify :-)

Nr. 5: Gia Paris Nail Polish Remover

This is the low cost variant of the Essence Quick & Easy remover.
Actually it's a sponge in a jar filled with acetone. I guess you noticed by now: I am all about fragrance ... and this one is with pineapple. The remover works surprisingly well, I have to recommend it.
It's available online here, with different fragrances.

As an alternative to nail polish removers, I use a peel off base coat from Essence (which I can't find at the moment to take a picture of and I am extreeemly pissed off because of this). I only recommend it for short periods (a few days), because it will stain the nails.

Have you tried the products from above? What nails polish removers are you using and what are your experiences with them?

I'm on holiday in Crete, Greece, until next week. The following 4 blog posts will be scheduled. Hope you enjoy them :-).

I Love Hean - Nr. 807 (pink)

At the beginning of the month I have shown you I Love Hean - Nr. 810, a really amazing blue polish. You can view it here. Today I am going to show you another polish from I Love Hean. It's nr. 807 and I got it from Magiq for a review.

I find the name of this polish so cute, I had to apply some hearts on my nails to match it :-). The heart studs were sent by Born Pretty Store. You will find the here, item ID: 4993. Other manicures with these studs are this and this.

I Love Hean - Nr. 807

Just the color and a top coat:

With the hearts studs:

I think of this polish as the little sister of Nr. 810 :-). It has a similar shimmer like Nr. 810. As the sun shines directly ot it, you will see a nice purple shimmer appear on the surface of your nails.

Wear pink and have a nice day!

I Love Hean - Nr. 810

The nail polish that I will be showing you today has really surprised me. I will be honest with you. I only ordered it because it was cheap :-). I wasn't looking for a new polish or a new shade, I just ordered it because I couldn't miss the chance to buy a new polish (beside the approx. 30 bottles I haven't tested yet).

I applied it without much enthusiasm, but once it was on my nails I fell in love with it!

This is I love Hean - Nr. 810. Well ... My point exactly! I Love Hean! :-) They couldn't find a better fitting name for this brand!

I have bought it from www.magiq.ro for only 7 RON (approx. 1.5 EUR / 2 USD).

It's not just a simple light blue, but it has a really nice somewhat darker, holographic blue shimmer in it.

Now I wonder ... is the whole I Love Hean Collection as beautiful as this one, or was I just lucky by choosing exactly this shade?

Nr. 810 is the second bottle from the first row.

And one more important thing: it's 3 Free! This polish contains no Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, and Formaldehyde.

Review of 2013 (pic heavy)

31st of December is always the day when I do a review for the past year and decide what I want to do in the following year.

Well .... 2013 was a great year for me and my nail blog. In January I have purchased my own domain name and started NailGlaze. This was my first post with the new name. Since the new name many many things have happened to me :). Many good things actually :-). Please take your time and take a look at my work from 2013.

I have joined many challenges, like:
  • The 31 Weeks Challenge

  • Untried Polishes Challenge

  • The Polish Addict Group Challenge

  • Other challenges and and collaborations (Secret Manicure, 1st of March, Polish Days-Vintage, The Nail Challenge Collaborative, Tri Polish Challenge)

I received different products as gift, for testing and for review. Special thanks to Born Pretty Store, Farmec, Magiq, Incoco, Rouge-Boutique and Cosmania!

I have participated in the Beauty Bloggers Meetup, second edition, in Cluj-Napoca. This event was organised by Anca Pop- All Made up! by Aqua_shell, Coman Cleopatra- Passion For Stylish Life and Laura Mariana- Classy and Pink with the help of the co-organiser, Farmec. The event was sponsored by: Yves RocherElmiplantNIVEAGolden Rose RomaniaOriflameB.U. RomaniaBioderma RomaniaCosmetic PlantAlhamoDentCupioAQUA CarpaticaPanemarOnePAds Web Design.
Thank you Anca, Cleopatra and Laura for organizing this event and for inviting me! Also thanks to the sponsors who have offered incredible goodie-bags.

I got my first indie polishes ever. Thank you IQJar for this beautiful present!

I discovered the textured polishes. Ouh my....I'm in love with them!

In 2013 I have written 190 posts. This means 190 publishes manicures (some didn't make it from various reasons:-P). I am sure a few don't appear in the above collections and this is why I would like to highlight some:

In the following year I plan to take on new challenges and collaborations and plan to be more active offline.

One big thanks to all my readers and commentators. I wish you a Happy New Year!

Pierre Rene Top Flex (Nr. 262 & 265) - Ikat Nails

Hi Girls!

Today I present you a manicure, made with Pierre Rene Top Flex polishes, ordered from www.magiq.ro.
The Magiq staff is very nice and helping, a pleasure to work with. Aside from the items that I've ordered from them last time, they put a surprise polish too in the package :-). Thank you! My boyfriend says that it is even prettier than the one that I have ordered :-)

Initially I wanted to do a Halloween manicure, but it turned out something ... different:

Products I have used:
  • Pierre Rene Top Flex - Nr. 262 (green polish)
  • Pierre Rene Top Flex - Nr. 265 (orange polish, this was the surprise polish). It's not a simple orange polish, but has a discrete silvery shimmer in it.
  • Bourjois - Green Fizz
  • Flormar - Nr. NA01
  • Flormar - Nr. NA12

The first time I have tried an Ikat design was during The Techniques Challenges. I am glad I have tried it because it's not that complicated and it looks really good on the nails.

Finally, the polishes I have used:

NOTD - Pierre Rene Sand Effect Nr, 02

Hi Girls!

The other days I have placed my first order on www.magiq.ro
I have purchased 2 beautiful polishes and an acetone free nail polish remover and I got to chose a scented polish of my choice. This offer is still available at Magiq.

Today I am wearing Pierre Rene - Nr. 02, the polish from the middle. I haven't used any design today. I wanted to reserve this post simply for this polish because I am in love with it.

What I like about it in the first place is this interesting orange-red, maybe coral color, the little golden particles and the fact that it is textured!
