The Techniques Challenge - #9 One stroke

Hi Girls!

Before I say anything else, I have to say that I hate this technique. I know, it was my idea to try it... And now that I have tried it (sort of...), I am absolutely convinced that this was the first and last time I did it! I am only posting this manicure because it is part of a challenge.

Products I have used:
  • Top Flex Sand Effect - Nr.02. This textured polish is fabulous. At first it looks like it is red. Than you start to see it dark orange and only then do you notice the little gold particles! I am loving it and so do the people who saw me with it today. Just to be clear, they saw it without my unfortunate one stroke attempt :-)
  • Acrylic paints

The last challenge will be Your favorite technique and will be posted on the 14th of October, 2013.

The Techniques Challenge - #8 Velvet Nails

Hi Girls!

Today's challenge is Velvet Nails and I have to confess, that I have been waiting for this post for month now!
I have bought my velvet from a local store (approx. 3 RON, that is less then 1 EUR) and I have chosen blue :-).

Products I have used:
  • Farmec - Pool Party
  • Farmec Collection - Nr. 200 ((clear polish, to stick the velvet to the nails). I have tried with a top coat too, but it dried before I managed to appy the velvet, so I needed something that dries ... well, slowly.
  • Noname velvet from a local store
  • Born Pretty Store Nail Studs

I like it how the Farmec polish has almost the same color as the velvet.

The next challenge will be One Stroke and will be posted on the 7th of October, 2013.

The Techniques Challenge - #7 Fishtail

Hi Girls!

Today I've finally managed to post my challenge manicure on time!
This is my second attempt for the Fishtail design. The first time I have used a dark green instead of the pink, but the brush was too wide and ruined the design :-(

Products I have used:
  • China Glaze - Icicle
  • Gabrini - Nr. C06 (blue)
  • Gabrini - Nr. 40 (pink)
At first I found this manicure ... strange. But as time passed I got to like it. Now I adore it and want to repeat it :-D.

For the second try I plan to draw more thicker lines. This design seems to make my nails larger than they are in real life.

The next challenge will be Velvet Nails and will be posted on the 30th of September, 2013.

The Techniques Challenge - #6 Stripes

Hi Girls!

Sorry for being late ... again! I am in a constant time crisis since I fund a new passion. When the time is right I will share it with you :-).

Today's manicure is about stripes stripes and stripes and this is my stripes manicure:

Products I have used:
  • Bourjois - Green Fizz
  • Sixteen Polish - the number is not visible anymore :-(. I have brought this polish in Rhodes this summer and wore it continuously while I was there. It's and extremely resistant polish. I saw no chipping after 4 days of baving in the sea, sunbathing and "playing" in the sand.:-)
  • Flormar Nail Art - NA01
  • Flormar Nail Art - NA 12

The next challenge will be Fish Tail and will be posted on the 23rd of September, 2013.

The Techniques Challenge - #5 Spun Sugar Nails

Hi Girls!

I am back with a new Technique Challenge: Spun Sugar Nails.
How to create a Spun Sugar design? Well actually it is super simple!
Step 1.  Put a drop of nail polish onto your work area. Allow it to thicken!
Step 2. At this point your polish has thickened. Grab an orange stick, a dotting tool or toothpick and dip it into the polish. Now lift the thickened polish over your nails.
Step 3 is optional. You can apply a top coat but than you will loose the 3D effect.

Products I have used:
  • Farmec - Flip-Flop
  • Natty - Nr. 32
  • Natty - Nr. 381

I like how it turned out. Next time I will definitely use more powerful colors.

The next challenge will be Stripes and will be posted on the 16th of September, 2013.

The Techniques Challenge - #3 Stamping

Hi Girls!

The third challenge from The Techniques Challenge is an easier one: stamping.
For today's manicure I have chosen a Konad stamping plate, Nr. m95. This product was sent to me for review by www.nailpolishcanada.com. The first thing I have noticed is that the patterns are way bigger then on the old Konad plates. Finally they fit my nails too! Yeah!

Products I have used:
  • Astor Perfect Stay - Flashy pink
  • Black Stamping polish from Born Pretty Store
  • Konad Image Plate - Nr. m95. You can find this image plate and many more here.

The next challenge will be Water marble and will be posted on the 2nd of September, 2013.
