FingerFood's Theme Buffet: #3 Weather

At first I didn't know what manicure I could possibly do for this theme, but then I remembered that I haven't done a cloud manicure for a while now.

I have chosen 3 shades of blue polish and this is what came out of them:

For this manicure I have used:
  • OPI - I saw ... U saw ... We saw ... Warsaw (from the Euro Centrale Collection)
  • Gabrini - Nr. C06
  • Essence Snow Jam - Goofy-Blue
  • Nubar - White Polka Dot. I have applied one coat of this beautiful polish because it reminds me of stars and snow :-)
Let's have a closer look at my Weather inspired manicure:

This manicure reminds me either of  starry night or snowing :-)

The next theme will be Sparkle! and will be posted on the 26th of January, 2014.

FingerFood's Theme Buffet: #2 Shapes / Geometric

It's time for the second FingerFood's Theme Buffet manicure. The theme was Shapes / Geometric.

For this manicure I have used:
  • OPI - The Spy Who Loved Me
  • Flormar - NA01
  • Flormar - NA12
After finishing the manicure it occurred to me, that maybe this manicure should have been about a geometric shape, but it was too late.

Lately I am into lines and dots and dots within dots and this manicure is not an exception :-).

The next theme will be Weather and will be posted on the 19th of January, 2013.

White Peacock Fearher

Pantone announced, that the color of the year 2014 will be Radiant Orchid. I personally am not a fan of this color, I liked last years color a lot better. I will definitely be wearing last year's color this year too! It's this powerful emerald.

For today's manicure I have chosen a darker color than Radiant Orchid and combined it with a white peacock feather.

For this manicure I have used:
  • Farmec Nr.29. I like this purple polish a lot. Although it has a regular brush, I found it is easy to apply due to it's thick formula. One coat would have been enough, but I have used 2 (I am used to it :-) ). Nr. 29 is similar to Rimmel Nr.180 Purple Pulse (I have used it for this manicure)
  • Water Decals from Born Pretty Store, sent to me for a review. The decals are available here (item Nr. 5311). For only $1.99 you will get 11 different patterns. For my manicure I have chosen the white peacock feather, to create a contrast with the base color.

Nr. 29 and Nr. 364

Golden Rose Rich Color Nr. 32

It has been a while since I have shown you a manicure. Christmas is over and getting back to work is harder then ever before :-(. I have decided to bring some color into my life with this manicure:

For this manicure I have used:
  • Golden Rose Rich Color - Nr. 32. This polish was sent to me for a review, along with some other beautiful polishes.  Nr. 32 is really similar to Golden Rose Paris Nr. 54. The polish that I have used now has a thicker formula and a big brush I absolutely love. It makes applying the polish so much easier and less prone to mistake.
  • Nail decals from Born Pretty Store, also sent to me for a review. I have used it already with this manicure. I like them because they gave the manicure an elegant, slightly vintage feeling. At least that's how I see them. I would recommend using the decals in 1-2 months after receiving them. Mine started to tear, they dried up I guess. The decals are available here (item Nr. 6229).

Chaos & Crocodiles - Rainbows All Around

While I was cleaning up my manicure pictures I found one that I haven't published yet. I have worn this on the 31st of July, 2013 :-)

The glitter topper is from Chaos & Crocodiles and it's called Rainbows All Around. I have a mini bottle, with the old C&C design. To be honest, I like the new version better. I invite you to visit the Chaos & Crocodiles website. Sarey has some really nice 3-free and cruelty-free polishes there.

Rainbows All Around is a glitter topper in a clear base. Various shapes, sizes and colors mix to create this amazingly colorful glitter polish.

A little close up:

Under the glitters I have applied a light base color. I have used Brooklin French Manicure Nr. 4. This way the glitters are more visible then on bare nails.

FingerFood's Theme Buffet: #1 Animal Print

As I decided in my New Year's resolution, I start the year with a whole new collaboration: FingerFood's Theme Buffet. We will post following the schedule you can see below :-). The themes are easy, but exactly this easiness attracted me. Not because I am lazy, but because the themes aren't restricting you, but let your imagination flow freely!

My inspiration for the first theme: Animal Print was this little fella, a poison dart frog:

This is my manicure:

Products I have used:
  • Flormar Duo Chrome - Nr. DC04 (I have found it by accident while searching for the perfect brown polish. It was a pleasant surprise. I have forgotten about this one. It's so sad, because it's a nice shade)
  • Golden Rose Holiday - Nr. 81
  • Flormar - NA 12

I have applied a generous coat of top coat to make my nails shine like that frog does :-)

The next theme will be Shapes/Geometric and will be posted on the 12th of January, 2013.

Trind Natural Nail Care - After 2 Weeks of Use

Happy New Year!

I begin the new year with my bare nails :-). I want to show you my nails after 2 weeks of using only Trind Cosmetics products for my daily nail care. As I said in my previous post, I planned to use Nail Repair as a base coat. Since that post I have used it with several dark colored polishes as OPI Holiday Glow, OPI The Spy Who Loved Me, OPI It's My Year and Golden Rose Matte Velvet Nr. 104. I am very pleased with how it protects my nails. They show absolutely no sign of discoloration. They even look more white than they did 2 weeks ago. If you don't believe me, just take a look at the following pictures:

Day 1 (more info and pictures here

Day 5

1 Week

2 Weeks

Once again, but a little more compressed :-)

Last week I also started using the Soft Cuticle Pen. It's special formula, containing Jojoba Oil, Avocado Oil, Almond Oil, vitamin A, C and E softens the cuticles and the dried skin around the nail. I have applied this product approximately once a day. I know it's a "sin" but I used to cut my cuticles... Since using Trind Cosmetics I haven't cut them but because they were hydrated. On one hand it was the Soft Cuticle Pen, but on the other was my will of stopping cutting them. Hopefully I will be able to keep my cuticles intact and hydrated in the future. This could be a New Years Resolution :-)

I have started applying Hand Repair hand creme more often. Especially after I have hydrated my cuticles. It has a non greasy formula which I loved, and a really creamy fragrance. I can't tell if the creme has made any changes to my skin, since it has always been hydrated, even before the creme. I have always kept my hands hydrated using hand creme several times a day. I even have a hand creme which I keep in the car. I like to say: "Whenever in doubt ... hand creme" :-D.

I am still to try the Magic Nail Buffer and the nice pink nail polish I have received from Rogue-Boutique.

Until next time,
