2 Years Anniversary and Short Story

My dear readers,

this is a very special day for me. My blog turns 2 years old today! :-)

As you know, I have decided to organize my first giveaway for this occasion. The happy winner is Daniela Zaharia. Congatulations! 

I would like to share with you the short story of my little blog, which I am so proud of. 

On the 27th of March, 2011 I bought an orange nail polish from Auchan, during a launch break. I went home, painted my nails and and I saw that they looked really nice. I couldn't resist taking a photo while I was holding Tiger, Winnie The Pooh's friend. The days passed and I was so proud of that photo (I even printed it out), I wanted to show it to the whole world! This is when the idea of a blog popped into my mind!

At first the blog was called: Lililala's Photo Nail Blog (maybe some of you still remember it as such). My plan was to post mostly photos (my English wasn't that good at the time).

At the beginning I was posting only NOTDs (of course, at the time I had no idea that they were in fact NOTDs). I had no idea what is a blogroll, GFC, Labels and much more. :-) I just posted my daily manicure.

Time had passed and during my first year I had posted 46 manicures/NOTDs. 

In 2012 I got promoted, life started to accelerate and Lililala's Photo Nail Blog was left behind. There had been only 29 posted manicures, none in September, October and November. (I am so ashamed of this fact).

Then in January 2013 something happened. I realized that I am still in love with nail polishes (more than ever, my stash grew from 20 to 150 polishes). In January 2013 I bought my own domain name, started to redesign my blog, joined several groups on Facebook and participated in several challenges.

I owe special thanks to the members of Girls Online who supported me and accepted me in their collective. I started to grow the moment I joined you!

Today I have 127  followers, 119 published posts (including this one :-) ), around 28.000 views and a mind full of potential manicures!

Changes and plans for 2013

There is so much going on these days (and the past weeks), that I didn’t even have time to blog properly, even though it was a New Year’s resolution to post more in 2013 compared to 2012.

First of all there’s a massive change related to my blog (as you may have already noticed): it has been renamed from “Lililala’s Photo Nail Blog” to “NailGlaze” and it has its own domain name. From now on you can visit my blog at http://nailglaze.com. I haven’t changed the older posts, the photos are still watermarked as Lililala, but after all, they were written and posted as such, by me. They still are my “little children” J . Besides the name, I have also changed the layout of the blog. I hope this year I will make other changes to the layout, until it looks just like I imagine it.

Other facts about the blog:

• I have created a new page where I have made a summary of 2012’s manicures. You can visit the photos by clicking here.
• I have created a new page for my wish list. You can visit the wish list by clicking here. Once a wish is fulfilled, I will place a link next to it. This way it will be easier to track these dream polishes.
• It was a New Year’s resolution to complete a Challenge this year. I have chosen the 31 days Challenge. The starting date is yet unknown.

 At this moment I have 19 new polishes and nail care products to blog about. Some were brought from local stores, some were ordered onIine and some of them were a Christmas gift.  I can’t wait to try them all! :-D
