KBShimmer - A Dot Mess

Hi Girls!

I managed to gather a little KBShimmer Collection and today I am going to show you A Dot Mess.
I am a big fan of indie polishes and when I saw this one in the hand of my boyfriend ... I was in the seventh heaven!

I let you in on a secret: all my KBShimmers are part of the 2013 Spring Collection, including this one.

Products I have used:
  • Bourjois - Green Fizz -> I have chosen a base color which I haven't already seen combined with this glitter topper. I am amazed by this combination!
  • KBShimmer - A Dot Mess

A Dot Mess is a glitter topper with fuchsia and black glitters in a clear base.

The glitters are different size of circle glitters (actually two sizes, big and small) and little glitter bars.

Because of the black glitters it would be a loss to apply the topper over a dark/black base color. This is why I have chose a base color which is in a high contrast with the glitters.

The Techniques Challenge - #5 Spun Sugar Nails

Hi Girls!

I am back with a new Technique Challenge: Spun Sugar Nails.
How to create a Spun Sugar design? Well actually it is super simple!
Step 1.  Put a drop of nail polish onto your work area. Allow it to thicken!
Step 2. At this point your polish has thickened. Grab an orange stick, a dotting tool or toothpick and dip it into the polish. Now lift the thickened polish over your nails.
Step 3 is optional. You can apply a top coat but than you will loose the 3D effect.

Products I have used:
  • Farmec - Flip-Flop
  • Natty - Nr. 32
  • Natty - Nr. 381

I like how it turned out. Next time I will definitely use more powerful colors.

The next challenge will be Stripes and will be posted on the 16th of September, 2013.

The Polishes Challenge: 16. Was a Gift

Hi Girls!

Today another challenge has come to an end.
We were supposed to present a nail polish that we got as a gift. I have to admit that I have cheated a little... This polish is a gift from me to myself. I am so depressed because autumn is here, that I had to buy something to cheer myself up.

Product I have used:
  • OPI Liquid Sand - Get Your Number
I love the feeling of this polish, the little holographic particles and its color that reminds me of this summer.

Let's go over to my friends:

Hi Girls!

The other days I received two marvelous polishes from Born Pretty Store for a review. I couldn't wait to try them on but I will show you them to you in two separate posts :-).

Products I have used:
  • Sweet Color - Nr. 207. You can find this item here (item ID 6364). Along with this polish, on Born Pretty Store you will find all sorts of nail art accessories (nail studs, rhinestones, decals ... etc)
  • Bourjois - Green Fizz
  • Flormar Nail Art - NA12

When you visit Born Pretty Store don't forget, that they offer free shipping worldwide! Using the code VNL91 you will get a 10% discount!

The Techniques Challenge - #4 Water Marble

Hi Girls!

Sorry for being soooo late. I promised to post my water marble manicure today, so here it is:

Products I have used:
  • Flormar Supermatte - Nr. M103
  • Gabrini Summer Collection - Nr. C 06
I have used the dry techniques once again. I have painted the water marble on a saran wrap and after it has dried I peeled it off the foil and "glued" it to my nails.

As a test, I have applied the polish together with the foil on my middle finger. I don't recommend you to do this. It looks awful and does not adhere well to the nail.

The next challenge will be Spun Sugar Nails and will be posted on the 9th of September, 2013.
